The Cold Barn Morris Dancers of Hamilton are joined at Hamilton Pagan Pride Day, by members of the Green Fiddle Morris of Toronto to bring you dances traditional to several different English villages.
These dances were and are done to mark significant events in the agricultural cycle of the year, such as seed time and harvest. They are a joyful celebration of life!
Today, these traditions are kept alive in places from Hong Kong to California. Each year, Morris Dancers the world over dance the sun up on May 1st to bring the summer and ensure the fertility of crops and lands and the prosperity of the people who depend upon them for their lives (all of us!). Come help us turn the wheel!
